Spring is in the air (even if the weather tells you otherwise) and what better way to clear the winter cobwebs away than by taking up a new sport?

Granite City Brawlers are inviting you to come along to our regular Friday night training sessions to give the exciting sport of Roller Derby a go for FREE throughout April. No prior experience is needed and all equipment is provided, we recommend you wear comfortable clothing for exercise and remember to bring a water bottle

Even if you decide playing isn't for you, we are always on the look out for those interested in becoming an on skates referee or a non-skating official.

Just pop us a message on facebook or email so we can make sure we have the right size equipment looked out and ready for you. See you all soon!

In 2020, the Men’s Roller Derby World Cup will be held in St. Louis, Missouri. The Scottish men’s team Power of Scotland held 2 tryout sessions in February. Our coach Nikki is the Support Coach for Power of Scotland 2020 squad.

The first session was at Manhattan works in Dundee where we had Brawlers helping out by NSOing and filming the tryouts. The second session was held in Grangemouth and we had Brawlers trying out for the team and as well as NSOing.

The squad selection was announced in early March and four Brawlers have made the squad! Well done to Beedie, Bell, Momo and Pudz!

In the middle of the cold winter, we made the trek to Manchester to play New Wheeled Order! NWO are Manchester Roller Derby’s MRDA A-team, ranked 5th in the world at the moment. Jumping on the Brawler Bus (provided by the wonderful Premier Coaches) we travelled to the outskirts of Manchester on a cold rainy Saturday. We had two games lined up that evening and our first game was Brawlers vs NWO.

Playing against NWO was a great learning experience for the Brawlers and it was a hard fought game! Our second game was a mixed scrim with more Manchester Roller Derby skaters, from the Chaos Engine B team. It was great to work with other skaters from a different team with different skating styles and tactics!

Some of our members came down to NSO and ref, working with other officials is always really fun and a good way to learn new things.
